[ Jason can't even try to fight how nice it feels to have someone taking his space, being up and close to his body. He loves it. The feeling of being truely wanted was something he never got enough of. The taste of Tim's lips against his own was exhilarating all on its own.
His hand stays firm on Tim's neck once the kiss broke and a shakey breath was released as Tim kissed the corner of his lips then close to his ear. His neck was a weak spot for him, so close to the spot where Bruce's Batarang for him when he tried to kill the joker.
It took all of his will to keep his voice steady as his body was already reacting. He was never a morning person... for anything but affection.]
[Tim grins against Jason's neck, slides his hand out of Jason's hair to trace the tips of his fingers along Jason's collarbone. Being allowed this close, permitted just to touch, is a thrill that sets his heart racing.]
What else do I need to do to prove it to you, hmm?
[ The ball was back in his court and he knew he had to lay down the foundation. This was his time. His heart speeding up as the light touches, the secret promises in those fingers. ]
Promise. Give me a oath that you wont change your mind, that you truly want this. And tell me what you expect from me.
[He's still doubting. Is that Jason's tendency to distrust talking, or is Tim just not convincing enough? Tim sobers a little, mouth pursed in concentration. He props his head up in his hand, leaning on his elbow against the pillow next to Jason so he can look him straight in the eye when he says his next words.]
Jason ... I've wanted you since before I really understood what that meant. I promise - I want you. I'm not going to change my mind.
[The rest of what Jason asks ... that's something about which Tim is much less certain. His eyes fall to his finger, tracing a slow line back across Jason's collar bone, sliding a few inches down to rest over his heart, beating and alive.]
I don't - I don't expect anything from you, I guess - I didn't think this would ever happen, so I didn't let myself imagine that far ahead. [His eyes flick up to Jason's again.] What do you expect from me?
[ It was completely Jason's tendancy to distrust. Tim was more than convincing he was to good to be true. Jason rarely got to keep things that good, and he wasn't in the market for more pain... well not his own pain anyway.
Tim always was smart, he knew exactly how to get the other set of blue eyes peering right into his. Soaking in every word. Every syllable.
There was a nod before Tim was gifted one of those oh so rare brilliant smiles he used to always wear in his Robin days, at least publicly.]
Oh Tim, I don't expect anything, I want you to understand what your signing up for though. I'm moody at best, always on the run. I can't stand to be boxed in, and there's days I am just a terror for no reason besides well.. ya know.
[ There was always going to be issues. PTSD, and Pit madness were a thing, and he worried that Tim would have issues with it when logically he knew better.]
Don't worry about imagining, come here. [ He moved his calloused fingers over to trail down Tim's cheek as he leaned in to steal his lips this time.]
[Jason turns on that smile that's so infrequently seen, and it makes Tim feel like stepping into a patch of warm sunlight on a cold winter day. Jason's smile is infectious, and Tim has never been happier to be infected, smiling right back as he's brought into the kiss, sparks catching under his skin where Jason's fingers land on his face. Tim melts into Jason, savoring the kiss, the touch, the warmth - everything, and he stays close after the kiss ends.]
Jason ... you keep saying stuff like that, like I don't already know. But I do know you - maybe not as well as I'd like, but well enough to know what I'm signing up for. I promise - I want this. You. Trust me - I can handle your worst. I'm not going anywhere.
[ It was easy to forget to breath, to forget everything but the touch and taste of Tim Drake. Who cared that they both drank the night before and slept. Jason didn't care about morning breath at the moment. He was more concerned with the promise that those lips and the words spilled between them offered.
Something he wished his heart didn't speed up for. He's made this mistake before... but Tim's no civilian. Tim's one of the few people he can stand who doesn't make him want to hurl when talking to him. Maybe it's worth it, he hoped it was. ]
Well, then Mr. Drake-Wayne, would you like to offically get to know me, not as another intern in the program called Robin but as anything we decide. Do you want to walk through the savage garden of this terrible world together?
[Tim's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. His traumas may be significantly smaller than Jason's and he may hide them better, but they still exist. He's as moody as any of the bats, withdraws when under stress, turns cold and shuts people out instead of addressing his feelings. This thing they're building together is going to be a challenge, but it's one Tim is enthusiastically committed to making work.
The way Jason words the proposal is oddly poetic - something of a paradox to the image he presents to the world. Tim finds himself instantly charmed by it, though, grinning as he turns his head into the side of Jason's neck to lay another kiss under his ear.]
Just Tim, OK? And yeah ... I do. I don't know much about gardens, but I want to walk with you. I want to know you. I want you.
[ Tim had problems that much was for sure, sometimes Jason worried
about his replacement but rarely voiced it. Just dropping in exchanging
info and vanishing into the night. This was a change in dynamic that he
wasn't sure about but that he was willing to cross the storm seas to try.
Time was no civilian he knew what he was getting into when he kissed on
Jason like he was. Opening minds to a new possibility. Jason moved an arm
protectively around him and kissed his head. Those dark locks .]
Sure, Timberly. Got it. I'll teach you plenty about gardens and the world
outside of your tech. [ a groan escaped him at the kisses on his
neck started spiking his blood pressure.]
[Tim doesn't expect quite as strong of a response as the one Jason gives him over the kiss to his neck. Suddenly unsure he's made a misstep, he pulls back a little, frowning, concerned.]
[He's calmed by the reassurance, a sudden lightness ballooning up in his chest. A grin slowly curls across his mouth.]
You don't want me to stop? OK.
[Tim shifts up, slides a knee between Jason's, presses in close again. He's still wearing all his clothes from the night before, but Jason's warm, and Tim takes a moment to savor the heat seeping in through the fabric. Then he turns his head in to the side of Jason's neck and places another slow kiss under his ear.]
[ He asked a bit lower, his tone changing with the promise of fun. When Tim moved over him his arms move down, holding Tim's hip bones through his clothes looking up at his eyes through his hair until he descended down. He didn't intend to leave them as they were for long, but to let Tim have his fun for now.
His scar from the batarang wasn't to much further down from where Tim was kissing. Near a visible tan line from his time living on the island with Kori and Roy. He was never made for tropical places. ]
Shit, seriously, who have you been practicing on, they need a fruit basket...
[Tim smiles against Jason's neck, brings his hand to the other side of Jason's face, traces fingertips along the line of his jaw. He likes the grip of Jason's hands on his hips, hums a quiet pleased note into the next kiss he leaves an inch farther down on Jason's skin.]
I told you, Jason. I don't kiss and tell.
[Stephanie, mostly. Girls are much better kissers and Tim learned a lot from her.]
Maybe, it's not something I get to do often, to anyone. I kind of swore this kind of stuff off after my ex.
[ Did he ever tell the other bats his dating history? Hell no. He wasn't giving Grayson ammo to tease or try to octopus hug. He expected Timbers here would do a full background check and Damian... he didn't want to humor if he decided to care.
He couldn't help another shiver that ran through him when Tim kissed his scar. Parting his lips to nip at Tim's finger, as he moved a hand from Tim's hip to his spine, running it softly over his shirt.]
I know, I'm just enjoying waking up for once. You enjoying yourself, Timbo?
[Tim's eyes cut up to Jason's, curious. It's harder to run a background check on someone who is, legally speaking, a ghost; the revelation is surprising, but also not. Tim figures he can't be the only person on the planet who's ever been attracted to Jason. What's surprising is that he actually let someone in close enough to become an ex. Despite how long Tim's watched Jason, how closely he's paid attention, there's still so much he doesn't know about him, so many gaps in Jason's history that Tim would like to fill in and thus create a more complete portrait of Jason Peter Todd.
So he asks, gently - inviting Jason to say more if he wants, but not demanding an answer. He can take his time learning the ins and outs of Jason, the secrets and the scars - like the one on his neck. There's a story behind every scar, and Tim wants to learn them all.
For now, though, he's content with Jason just as he his - warm, a hand at his back, allowing Tim to come closer than he ever has before. It's all Tim never dared to fully hope for, and he smiles, turning his head into Jason's chest, stretching his arm out to rest his free hand over Jason's heart.]
Mm, I am. Could almost go back to sleep just to wake up all over again.
Got a couple of'em, but Isabel was the last. Flight attendant, she was good person, to good for me.She basically reminded me that this life we lead is dangerous, anyone with us has a target on their back. So, I kinda swore this shit off after her.
[ He offered at the questioning tone. Mostly just to ease the throbbing in his chest. Wanting to hear someone tell him he was dumb. The way Roy or Kori would if they were there. He did his best to keep anyone connected to the Bats from knowing what he gets up to when he's not home. Desperately wanting to be far from them all... and yet just wanting someone to care enough to call. Even if he'd curse them out.
He keeps his arms around Tim, holding the smaller close, enjoying the warmth, the touch and all of it.]
[He might very well be a sap. Tim's hungover with extreme prejudice, feeling emotionally raw in all the right ways, and he's - he's happy. Happy to be here with Jason, not doing much of anything except talking softly and gently touching. It's rare to find something that shuts Tim's brain down from the dozens of subprograms constantly running in the background, but right now? He's fully present in the moment, for once.
What he says about Isabel - he's not wrong. Tim hasn't had much luck with anyone who wasn't also a mask, and this lifestyle does put people in the crossfire, whether they're romantic interests or simply innocent bystanders. Tim is acutely aware of the lifetime of mistakes he's made, missteps that got people hurt or killed, and he can never forget about them, and he wouldn't want to.
Jason's wrong about one thing, though. Tim pushes himself up a little so he's hovering over Jason, still straddled against his leg, and stares down at him, blue eyes wide and sober.]
You're not a bad person, Jason.
[Then he leans down, kisses him deeply, takes back every inch of space that he can.]
[ Jason needed a sap, someone to remind him its okay to let his guard down. Not everyone out there was looking to hurt him. Though his life had taught him just that. Be weary of everyone, namely those closest to you. Laying in bed holding Tim was just one of those rare moments he could let the walls down a bit. Open his broken heart a little, see if Tim had the right glue to fix the shattered pieces.
Jason's eyes stayed locked on Tim's as he spoke a sad look in his eyes. ]
Say it again...
[ he spoke low before kissing Tim back just as deeply as he could, his hands moving to explore Tim's body, just wanting to know more about the one that came after him. The one opening possibilities to him.]
[The sound Tim makes into the kiss as Jason's hands move over him, searching out the shape of him through his clothes - it's just this side of a moan. Quiet, muffled, a measure satisfied but still wanting more. He's breathless by the time the kiss breaks. Tim curls fingers into Jason's hair and kisses him again, shorter this time, pausing to answer Jason's request.]
You're not a bad person, Jason. You're better than you give yourself credit for.
[Maybe everyone can use someone else who can be a mirror, show them who they are outside of their own perception. Tim's more than willing to be that for Jason.]
[ His fingers trailed over the fabric, the teasing feel of the a barrier between them. It was kind of poetic in a way. The noise Tim makes fuels him to be a bit more bold. Run into a building of armed drug dealers, no biggie, make out with someone he actually gave a damn about losing, well, that left more worry. Though, Tim's words had melted some but worry was still there.
Jason's eyes trailed Tim's features just before their lips joined again. The eyes slipping shut as he kissed back once more, his fingers dared to slide just barely under his shirt, to skirt just above the pants line. ]
Don't, don't try to paint it better, it's enough. I'm not better, but good, good is nice to hear.
[ He admitted low, the eyes sliding open again to look at Tim a silent moment. At the request, Jason moved, his fingers slipping free, flipping them in a fast fluid act to pin Tim back down on the bed as he had been.]
[He's ready to argue with Jason, insist that his claim is true - Jason's a better person than he thinks, and Tim can see that, clear as day - but he's caught off guard by Jason's movement to switch their positions. The arguments he'd been gathering melt on his tongue, lost to the burst of dizzy laughter that emerges from the back of Tim's throat when he finds himself pressed back into the mattress with Jason's weight on top of him. Tim looks up at Jason, eyes bright, grin playfully challenging.]
You wanna fight me on this, Jay? 'Cause I will, you know.
[Tim reaches up to get the side of Jason's jaw under his open hand again, searching just to touch him.]
[ Jason made sure to balance most of his weight on his arms to not put all of it on Tim. He managed one of those bright grin's at the laughter, it felt good to hear Tim laugh. He couldn't help but puff up a little proud. ]
Please, we've done this tango before, I'd wipe the floor with you, Timbers. Just accept it and enjoy the moment. It's all we have is a serious of moments tossed in with the shit life gives us.
[ He spoke, shifting his weight a bit to his elboes so he could move a hand and softly card his fingers in Tim's hair again.]
